Stittsville winters do not wait for business hours. When a torsion spring snaps and the door hangs open toward Eaglewatch Drive, or a three-car door in Crossing Bridge Estates is crooked on one cable, you need a technician who can secure the opening — not a voicemail promising a callback Tuesday. We keep emergency slots on the west Ottawa rotation for true safety and security issues described below.
What counts as an emergency
Call anytime — day or night — if waiting until morning creates a safety or security problem. These are the Stittsville calls we treat as true emergencies:
- Door stuck open — garage exposed to weather, theft risk, or animals off the Trans Canada Trail edge in Amberwood
- Vehicle trapped inside — you cannot get to work, school at Sacred Heart, or a shift down Carp Road
- Broken spring with door hanging crooked — cables under tension, door may drop if forced
- Door fallen off tracks — gaping opening, risk of collapse if the opener is cycled again
What is not an emergency
We still help with these — usually on the next same-day window between 7 AM and 10 PM, not a midnight premium dispatch:
- Cosmetic panel dents from basketball or hockey nets in the driveway
- Noisy door that still opens and closes safely — book a maintenance tune-up
- Planning a new door or opener install when the current unit still works
- Remote battery or keypad codes — often resolved without a truck roll
If you are unsure, call anyway. We will tell you honestly whether you need a truck tonight or whether you are safe to park outside until morning.
After-hours fee disclosure
Standard hours are 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. Between 10 PM and 7 AM, emergency dispatches include our $89 diagnosis fee plus an after-hours dispatch surcharge. We quote the full amount before we leave for your address — whether you are off Fernbank Road, Wyldewood Drive, or Stittsville Main. No surprise totals when we pull into the driveway.
Approving the repair during the same visit still applies the service call fee toward the job, the same as daytime calls. We do not use emergencies as an excuse to double parts prices.
